RACE REPORT - 2017 500cc WA State Title

Updated: Aug 13, 2019

What a crazy night at Pinjar Park! I started off with a 2nd in heat 1, followed by a 3rd in heat 2. Heat 3 was tough with 3 attempts of the race after two crashes. Unfortunately I was excluded from this heat after the second attempt in what was a contentious call by the referee. With 3 points from 3 rides I had to salvage the night and come out and won heats 4 and 5 to settle on 9 points. This gave me second last pick for the B final. I managed to get out front in the B final and led for two laps before two riders collided behind and the race was red flagged. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the same outcome in the restart and missed out on the A final.

All in all, it was a great experience to finally race on the world renowned Pinjar Park circuit and have some fantastic battles with the WA lads. Sometimes you need a bit of luck but there’s nothing like a bit of character building to put the fire up it.

I’ll be back Pinjar!
