The Australian Teams program was designed as a development program to build the skills of the local, domestic riders in a bid to prepare for the more common team style league racing in Europe. 4 internationally recognised teams put forward their interest in naming rights for the teams. The Edinburgh Monarchs and Swindon Robins from the UK and the Leszno Bulls and Falubaz Zielona Gora from Poland. With all the hype around this exciting format, the racing here in Australia has been getting international coverage and team managers from across the world are keeping an eye on the upcoming Australian talent.
I was selected in the Leszno Bulls team for the Gillman and Mildura race offs. I scored a solid 10 points to kick off the first day of racing and had an even better day on the second with a scorecard of 13+2. I picked up good heat wins and bagged a pair of 5-1’s with my team mate Ryan Douglas with some impressive team riding to block out the opposition.
